Enrico Ricci was born in Rome in 1936 and he lives in a nice town in UMBRIA near the lake of Corbara in ORVIETO. He took part in one-man shows in Rome, Florence, Milan, Bologna, Potenza...! His works are always appreciated by world critics and are in private collections in Europe, USA and Japan. Enrico Ricci takes an urban collective as a model-symbol: a foreshortening of a quarter, a strip of a town, a massive whole of shapes which tell their story through their defined features. Enrico Ricci is a very fine colourist : he catches the sharp lights characterizing a landscape and his critical intelligence lets him distinguish and baptize a quarter, fix a time,delimitate a season. Enrico Ricci's landscapes represent the simulacrum of an existence which tries to find out the deepest motivations of being man and artist, between game and reality, fancy and memory, by showing a sharp sensitiveness, able to open to feelings and emotions, yet retaining its intimate rigour. |
