CZOK
was born in Beirut in 1947 to polish parents who were
to move to London only one year later. She completed
her studies at St. Martin's College of Art, London,
in 1974 and in the very same year left for Rome where
she started her artistic career. In the past 25 years
the painter has had exhibitions all over the United
States and Europe and, thanks to her regular contributions
to Alitalia's (the italian national airline) "ALITALIA
PER L'ARTE" programme, her works had the chance
to be appreciated worldwide. The very same ALITALIA
commissioned her to paint a triptych that was later
presented to Pope John Paul II on his 80th birthday.
More recently a series of paintings were commissioned
by the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line for their cruisers.
Not only does Czok's style reflect the echoes of the
great polish figural tradition of the past, from Daumier
and Brueghel all the way to the caricatural expressionism
of Grotz and Beckman, but also the influences of the
recent, illustrative and narrative, cartoon figuration.
Her paintings can be found in public and private collections
all over the world.
